THE LITTLE PEOPLE COME

After deliberating for months, we finally decided it was time to retire. We longed to return to the roots of our childhood in the Midwest. We were sure we made the right decision when our house sold in an hour, and we connected with a new one a week later. The arduous task of packing was behind us, and soon our possessions arrived at our new home. After a long day, the movers finally finished unloading the van. As we watched the truck pull away from our driveway, we knew we had our work cut out for us. There were piles of boxes and furniture scattered everywhere; where to start? We decided to unpack just the necessities for the night and start fresh in the morning. By accident, I discovered the box labeled candles, and in just a few minutes we created an ambience that made the hectic day melt away. As we sat on the floor reminiscing about our early years in the Midwest, I started to feel the familiar shudders of connection, this time spontaneously. While Peter ran to find the recorders, I calmed my mind. Soon an unfamiliar voice, with an accent like an Irish brogue came into my head.

Hi, I’m Shamus. How are ye likin’ yer new home today? We are the little folk. We’re here tonight to tell ye that we’re goin’ to be with ye in yer abode. We’re goin’ to be talkin’ to ye too. We haven’t said much in the past, but we will, now that we’re livin’ with ye.

Don’t ye be afraid. And don’t worry, we won’t get in yer way. We’re not mischievous, and we won’t be takin’ yer thin’s. We’re here, me darlin’s, to keep ye happy. Ye’re goin’ to need a dose of happiness and laughter and joy in this place called the northern climes. We’re goin’ to perk ye up on dark days. And we’re goin’ to bring a little laughter to ye whenever we feel ye need it. If ye break out in laughter for no good reason, that’ll be us ticklin’ yer funny bone. Stay smilin’, and if ye don’t we’ll be pokin’ ye in the side with a little laughter and merriment. Happy days are ahead, and we’ll be sharin’ ’em with ye. Speak to us if ye like and we’ll answer ye in turn. It’s our honor and pleasure to serve ye and guide ye and most of all to make ye laugh.

Top o’ the mornin’ to ye!

We were stunned, yet excited. Did we really have wee folk living in our home? Where did they come from? What did they look like? What was their purpose? Our minds were racing. We wanted to know more.

We know ye’ve been wonderin’ about us and how we came to be here, livin’ in yer house. We’re happy to tell ye the story. Y’see, there are eight of us at this time. At one time there were twelve, but four have, well, let’s just say they’re no longer with us. We are equal in number, four male types and four female types. We’re about three feet tall. We are not human, and we live in a higher dimension or vibration. That’s why ye can’t see us, but we’ve given a few looks of ourselves to our darlin’ one through her inner eyes.

The population of little people came to Earth thousands of years ago. At first we lived freely, minglin’ with the indigenous peoples and the natural world, without fear. We shared thin’s together, honored each other, and took care of each other. Later, as the Earth became more populated, we began to feel ’twasn’t safe for us anymore. We then moved into the inner earth or middle earth, the hollowness that lies below the surface of the Earth. That was fine for a while, but many of us missed the places that we had once known. So after a while, we began to venture forth, back to the surface of the Earth. We chose to live in places that humans didn’t want to be: places they couldn’t farm, places they couldn’t walk through, places they couldn’t hunt. These were the lowlands and the deep thickets, unreachable by all but the animals and birds. We lived among the wildlife for hundreds of years, until the chaos of the Earth’s history got worse and worse.

Then one day we were charged with the responsibility of makin’ ourselves known. At that time we were livin’ in a special place. ’Twas a low-lyin’ oxbow-shaped space formed by the meanderin’ of a creek. With high banks all around, ’twas secluded, magical, and high energy because ley lines crossed there. Coincidentally, or maybe not, yer house overlooked our special place. And when ye sat on the bank and stated yer intention to communicate with nature spirits, we knew there was somethin’ special about ye. ’Twas then that we decided we would begin livin’ with ye. And wherever ye went, we would go too.

Now a little bit about ourselves. I, Shamus, am the leader, and I am the oldest. I am, in yer time, many hundreds of years old. Y’see, we live a long time. We all work together, and we all have our duties. We keep ye protected, we teach ye, and we make ye aware of certain thin’s in yer life. Most of all we’re here to help ye in any way we can. Ye could say we’ve adopted ye, and when that happens ye aren’t gettin’ rid of us anytime soon. We like to think we’re related and, in a way, we are, because we all come from the stars.

Soon ye’ll become more familiar with yer new surroundin’s, and ye’ll get used to havin’ us around too, now that ye know we’re here. We want ye to talk to us whenever ye want. Then ye’ll learn from us and we’ll learn from ye. Our ways are a little different than yers, but in the end, we’re all servin’ others.

We’d like ye to know we’ve become very fond of ye. We really love bein’ in yer house and enjoyin’ the beauty of yer surroundin’s like ye do. Keep a smile on yer face, and know that we’ll be pokin’ ye if we don’t see it. Don’t ye worry. Everythin’s goin’ to work out.

Thanksgiving Day was only a few days away. We agreed that if we worked hard unpacking boxes those few days, we could relax and enjoy the holiday for at least one day. After returning from a local restaurant, we noticed a few birds in our evergreen trees. We decided to put out our old bird feeder and some leftover birdseed. Our intention was to offer the birds a Thanksgiving dinner just like we had enjoyed. Anxiously, we peeked through the window to discover that a few birds had already found our feeder and were happily sampling the seeds. Knowing we had our work cut out for us the next day, we decided to light the candles again to unwind and relax. We both made a silent intent for Shamus and his band to come and talk to us. We quieted our minds, and the room fell silent — but not for long. Shamus had heard our thoughts and began by saying:

We’re glad ye invited us to be with ye tonight. We just love sittin’ around the fire and enjoyin’ each other’s company, just like the indigenous ones have done for millennia. When ye light the candles, ye are sendin’ out an invitation for Light bein’s to come. Their energy dispels the dark and allows messages of wisdom to come to ye. We know ye love the candles and the light and the fire, so keep the candles burnin’, and they’ll come. We’ll be comin’ in, too.

We’re goin’ to tell ye a few thin’s, and we want ye to listen. There’s four thin’s that won’t change. First, we’re here to stay. Second, we’re goin’ to keep ye happy. Third, we’re preparin’ a positive and sacred space for ye. Fourth, we’re goin’ to help ye write a book. The Brotherhood of Light has commanded us to help ye. We’re the best ones for the job, and we’re goin’ to do it. We know we can help ye, and together we can get the job done. For now, just keep yerself light, follow yer heart, listen for our words, and don’t worry. ’Tis all goin’ to work out.

Well, we’ll be goin’ about our business now, as ye go about yers. We have many others to cater to, now that we’re here. We’ve contacted yer little feathered friends that are comin’ to yer feeders. We’ll be takin’ care of ’em as well. Y’see, the little feathered ones weren’t sure they wanted to come to yer feeder, but we convinced ’em ’twas a good feedin’ station. Word’ll spread now and ye’ll be feedin’ many more. Better start puttin’ away some spendin’ money to buy ye enough feed for all the feathered ones, now that the welcome sign is lit.

It was a cold and snowy day. Winter had settled in around us. As the biting winds blew across the prairie, it felt good to be snug in our home, all cozy and warm. We had set aside our schedule, as Shamus had suggested, allowing our heart to guide us, and it felt good. We were inspired to purchase more candles, this time ones with significance. We chose red ones for east, yellow ones for south, black ones for west, white ones for north, green ones for earth, and blue ones for sky. We arranged them in a circle representing the four directions, Mother Earth, and Father Sky. When we lit them, we could feel a connection to all life. It became a sacred moment. We knew Shamus and his band would be with us as the candles were lit. Even though he told us they would be helping us, we suspected they were here to accomplish more.

Peter asked, “What do you do when you are not helping us?

Well, here we are sittin’ around the fire again, and it’s oh, so delightful. It’s been a while since we had our last chat. Y’see, ye have thin’s ye need to do and we have thin’s we need to do. But it’s all in preparation for the ascension. Y’see, ye’re gatherin’ information for the book, and we’re gatherin’ information about the natural world. When we’re not spendin’ time with ye around the fire, we’re out in the natural world lookin’ around and becomin’ acquainted with the wild creatures. We little people have a special attachment to the natural world. We love gettin’ to know the birds and the animals and the insects and the trees and the plants. We ask ’em to tell us their story, their life story, so there’s a record of their history. Then we collect these stories, just like ye collect the channeled messages, to make a cumulative history of the natural world of this vicinity. Then there’s another reason we collect these stories. Should it happen that one of the natural creatures was close to becomin’ what ye call extinct, then we would contact the ones who maintain the zoo starships. We would arrange to have their DNA extracted and preserved until such time that particular species can live again and thrive again in a new environment. So if ye feel bad because y’see little creatures havin’ trouble keepin’ their numbers alive, remember we’re keepin’ track of ’em and lookin’ out for their welfare.

Now, y’see there’s quite a lot to be done because there’s a lot of species that surround ye here. There’s a variety of one kind or another. Some are wild; some are domestic. We just have a little conversation with each of the species to find out their life story so we can preserve it. We do this so no one is left behind. Even those species that go extinct can have their story told. Then, when they’re revived again in another life, they can go on in the same way as they did before. Y’see, Creator creates a huge variety of livin’ thin’s. Not one of ’em is allowed to be lost. They are too precious.

Our curiosity about Shamus and his band of little people grew stronger. We couldn’t wait to know more details of their history. Once again, we lit the candles, arranged in a circle, with their colors representing the four directions, earth, and sky and honoring all life.

We asked Shamus, “Can you tell us more about your history?”

Ye’ve been wonderin’ about our history, and it’s time for us to be speakin’ about these thin’s. We have a lot of thin’s to tell ye, but until ye reached a certain point we knew ye wouldn’t understand ’em. We think ye’ve reached that point now. Now ye’re ready to hear the thin’s we have to tell ye. Y’see, we’re not strangers. We have a history together, meanin’ we’ve known each other in the past. We are reconnected now but reconnected in a way that’s new and fresh.

Now ye know, we’ve been around this Earth for a long, long time. We’ve lived a good many years here. We’ve had the opportunity to see what’s been goin’ on in this place called Earth for a long time. Y’know, the Truth has not been told for many hundreds of years. Withholdin’ the Truth was the way to usurp the power from all but the few on Earth. Those who sought to control found out ’twasn’t hard. They discovered if they kept sayin’ one thin’ over and over again, pretty soon people believed it. Then the power grabbers, the ones with the big egos, decided the populace should bow down to ’em. When that was accomplished, ’twas only a matter of time until they grabbed financial resources, status, and power. Soon they set up the ruling class and finally asked the populace to worship ’em, even though this was in opposition to the universal spiritual Truths. ’Twas like a snowball rollin’ down a hill. They just kept goin’, gettin’ more and more powerful, and soon everyone was believin’ the falsehoods they told.

Now y’see, that’s why we stayed, first underground and then in the natural areas, the wetland areas, because we knew humans wouldn’t go there. These falsehoods created a safe haven for us, because those who were in power created these little stories about those who lurked in low, wet areas. People were afraid of goin’ there, so those were the best places for us to live.

Now, we want ye to know that star people have been visitin’ this world for hundreds of years. And they really are, for the most part, benevolent. They want to observe ye. Y’see, their worlds are in this galaxy too, and they want to check up on ye once in a while, makin’ sure yer goin’ down a path that would not be a bother to ’em. They have been watchin’ since Earth’s early years. In these early years, they interacted with the indigenous ones and with us little people. That was before the Dark forces began to hide the Truth. Later, those in control seized technology from other worlds and tried to reverse-engineer it so they could use it for deception. Y’see, they are willin’ to do anythin’ to keep their power.

Now, what’s important right now is to understand that the star visitors would like to be in partnership with ye, as they are in partnership with other worlds. This could be, if the Truth were told and fear were alleviated. But in order for this to be, people who live on this world would have to wake up. They would have to realize what’s happened to ’em over these hundreds of years. They would have to see that their evolution was interrupted hundreds of years ago, resultin’ in their history bein’ diverted to the opposite direction from what ’twas meant to be. It’s not goin’ to be easy, but there’s sparks that’s flickerin’ in many people’s minds. There’s a lot of doubt about what’s been told to ’em. Many are workin’ tirelessly to bring out the Truth, and ye are among ’em. It will happen.

Well, I’ve told ye a lot of thin’s that ye will have to consider some. We wanted to let ye know that we’ve been goin’ with ye on yer little mini-trips. We didn’t think ye would mind, and we really love it. We love to see the natural spaces and learn about ’em, as we know ye do. There’s one place that ye went to that we don’t especially like. That’s the place where ye pull the handles and ye push the little buttons and the little dancin’ thin’s come up (a casino). That place makes us feel uncomfortable, so we won’t be goin’ with ye on those trips.

Top o’ the mornin’ to ye.

We would hear more from Shamus and the little people in the days to come.
